Welcome to Grade 3 Mathematics at “Strive to Learn,” where we adhere to the Ontario curriculum to provide a comprehensive understanding of math concepts for your child. Our course is meticulously designed to align with the Ontario Elementary Mathematics Curriculum for Grade 3, ensuring students develop a strong foundation in key areas.
Through interactive lessons and engaging activities inspired by the Ontario curriculum, students will explore number concepts, fractions, computation strategies, patterns, measurement, geometry, data representation, probability, and financial literacy.
At “Strive to Learn,” we prioritize personalized learning. Before the first lesson, parents collaborate with our tutors to create a customized tuition plan. This plan allows parents to actively participate in shaping their child’s educational experience by selecting specific lessons and activities tailored to their child’s unique learning needs and interests.
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
Understand number concepts up to 1000, including fractions.
Perform addition and subtraction operations up to 1000 and develop emerging computational fluency for addition and subtraction facts to 20.
Explore multiplication and division concepts.
Recognize increasing and decreasing patterns and articulate pattern rules.
Solve one-step addition and subtraction equations with an unknown number.
Apply measurement concepts using standard units for linear, mass, and capacity.
Understand time concepts.
Construct 3D objects.
Interpret and represent data using bar graphs, pictographs, charts, and tables.
Discuss the likelihood of simulated events using comparative language.
Develop financial literacy skills, including fluency with coins and bills up to 100 dollars, and concepts of earning and payment.
